Educational sessions led by experts in multiple sclerosis will be held May 26-29, 2020.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many society meetings and conferences have been forced to postpone, or worse, cancel. In an effort to help continue to provide the most up to date resources and educational opportunities for health care providers, NeurologyLive has partnered with the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) to convert many of the planned educational sessions from the in-person meeting to a virtual format.

The 2020 CMSC Virtual Annual Meeting will feature 4 days of educational sessions, totaling up to 18 hours of potential continuing education credit. The agenda includes a range of experts in multiple sclerosis and related neuromuscular disorders, with the program headlined by Peter Calabresi, MD, who will deliver this year's Whitaker Lecture, "CNS Immune Responses that Underlie Progressive MS: Future Challenges in the COVID-19 Era."

Other notable faculty presenters include Patricia Coyle, MD, Brenda Banwell, MD, Allen Bowling, MD, PhD, and Mark Freedman, MD, MSc, FRCPC, who will deliver the John F. Kurtzke Lecture on stem cell research.

“The CMSC supports all efforts to eliminate COVID-19 from our country and the world and is saddened to cancel our live annual meeting,” said CMSC CEO June Halper, MSN, APN-C, MSCN, FAAN. “Our partnership with NeurologyLive has enabled us to provide accredited information to our membership and the MS community in a novel and exciting way.”

The CMSC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center to provide continuing education for the entire health care team.
