The first-of-its-kind, peer-nominated recognition program will celebrate the comprehensive care community in multiple sclerosis.
A chronic, degenerative disease such as multiple sclerosis requires a life-long commitment to whole-body, comprehensive care delivered by a spectrum of health care providers and support networks. NeurologyLive, in partnership with the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC), is proud to announce the initiation of the Giants of Multiple Sclerosis™ recognition program to recognize and celebrate the pioneers, innovators, and next generation of leaders who have made a significant impact on the lives of patients with MS.
From the bench to bedside and beyond, the Giants of Multiple Sclerosis™ program serves to recognize the full spectrum of care providers who help both advance our understanding and management of the disease, as well as actively work to improve outcomes in patients with MS.
The peer-nominated recognition program will recognize a “giant” in the following categories: Research, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Neuro-imaging, Patient Care, Neurology, Pharmacy, and Mental Health.
"The leadership of the CMSC is grateful for the recognition afforded by this award and for the acknowledgement of our unique mission and vision," said June Halper, APN-C, CEO of CMSC.
The recognition program is led by an esteemed Steering Committee, including chair Scott Newsome, DO, president of CMSC, and is made up of clinical leaders across the spectrum of MS care providers. In the peer-nomination process, the Steering Committee selects the semi-finalists, who are ultimately voted on by the Selection Committee.
Nominations for the Giants of Multiple Sclerosis™ officially open on October 26, 2021, at a welcome reception held during the 2021 CMSC Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. Registered attendees of the Annual Meeting are invited to learn more about the program and enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on October 26 from 7:30PM-9:00PM at the Rosen Shingle Creek.
