Team Cure SMA is an endurance program that connects runners and cyclists with Cure SMA. Over the last two years, Team Cure SMA athletes from across the country have trained for endurance events while also raising money and awareness of Cure SMA.
In 2021, with many endurance events still to be postponed or cancelled due to the ongoing global pandemic, Cure SMA is opening up our endurance event program to a broader swath of the spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) community with event challenges of all shapes and sizes.
So, start your year off strong as a participant in a Cure SMA-driven virtual marathon, half marathon, 10K, or 5K race. Team Cure SMA race participants—veterans and newbies alike—can expect brand new endurance gear, comprehensive training programs, and fundraising guidance every step of the way.
If you have any questions, reach out to Alyssa Zavislak, the program’s Endurance Development Manager.
Cure SMA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the treatment and cure of SMA. SMA is a disease that robs people of strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, or breathe. It is the number one genetic cause of death for infants.
